City Continues to Monitor Coastal Flooding
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The National Weather Service is expecting minor coastal flooding along many of the City’s beaches today.
Due to beach erosion, the flooding is localized to the area between Bob Hall Pier and Island House Beach Condominiums and is not expected to impact beach roads for Gulf-facing beaches.
The high tides for Corpus Christi beaches were at 9:57 a.m.
If flooding escalates, the City will place message boards on beach access roads advising the public of water conditions and increase the City’s lifeguard presence.
Public safety remains a top priority. Lifeguards will use mobile units to patrol Gulf beaches. Visitors should observe and follow the flag warning system to be aware of surf and rip current conditions. The flags are located on all Gulf beach access roads.
The public is urged to take precautions and follow local advisories for updates on beach conditions by visiting https://www.facebook.com/CorpusChristiParksAndRecreation?mibextid=LQQJ4d.
