City Gearing Up for Spring Break 2025
Runs from March 7 Through March 16
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City of Corpus Christi is preparing for a large influx of visitors to area beaches during Spring Break 2025.
Lifeguards will patrol Gulf beaches using mobile units. Visitors should observe the flag warning system to stay informed about surf and rip current conditions. The flags are positioned along all Gulf beach access roads.
A lane for emergency vehicles will be established on the Gulf beach from Zahn Road to Newport Pass.
Weather conditions have led to an elevated risk of fires. The City of Corpus Christi has issued a burn ban on City beaches from March 7 to March 23.
From March 9 to March 17, dogs will not be allowed on the stretch of Gulf beach from Zahn Road to Newport Pass Road.
The Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD) will establish an Island command post and focus on impaired drivers during spring break through dedicated DWI patrols.
The CCPD will monitor traffic flow on Aquarius Street and other key intersections along Park Road 22, including Whitecap Boulevard, Commodores Drive, and State Highway 361 on the main route to Port Aransas. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to leave early for their destination.
All lanes will be open on major corridors into the Coastal Bend, Corpus Christi and Port Aransas, including the JFK, Nueces Bay and Copano Bay causeways, I-37 Nueces River Bridge and the Harbor Bridge.
Port Aransas ferry services will operate at full capacity and will be prepared to handle any surge in late-night traffic.
City parks and swimming pools (Collier Pool and Natatorium) will be open with free admission. City Splash Pads are closed in accordance with Stage 3 Drought Restrictions.
