City Offering Lifeguard Training Courses in March

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department is accepting registration for two aquatic courses at the Corpus Christi Natatorium, located at 3202 Cabaniss Parkway. These courses offer skills training from an introduction to lifeguarding to becoming a certified lifeguard.

Lifeguard Certification Training

  • Eligible: Ages 15+
  • Fee: $200/person
  • Online registration is open now and will close on March 7, 2024.
  • Program Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, & Friday, March 11, 13, & 15, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Prerequisites: Participants must complete a 300-yard swim, 100-yard front crawl, 100-yard breaststroke, and 100 yards of breaststroke and front crawl.

 

Junior Lifeguard Training

  • Eligible: Ages 11 to 14
  • Fee: $75/person
  • Online registration is open now and will close on March 8, 2024.
  • Program Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, & Friday, March 11, 13, & 15, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Prerequisites: None
  • Learn leadership and rescue techniques and have fun in our American Red Cross Junior Lifeguard class. Students will be swimming and learning basic lifeguard techniques. This course will not certify participants to be lifeguards.
