Crude Oil Leak Isolated Inside Flint Hills Resources Terminal in San Patricio County

The Corpus Christi Office of Emergency Management received notification from Flint Hills Resources (FHR) concerning a crude oil leak at their Ingleside location in San Patricio County.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on January 6, an estimated amount of 2,915 barrels of oil leaked from a tank inside the FHR terminal. All oil is contained onsite, with no impact to any body of water. FHR sprayed the area with a sealing foam blanket to trap the odor, however, there may still be an odor in the immediate area.

Government agencies continue to monitor air quality. Currently, all readings are normal.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is actively working with Flint Hills Resources to address the situation.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
