Elizabeth Street Construction Enters Final Phase
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX—The Elizabeth Street reconstruction project will enter its final construction phase on Tuesday, January 28.
The eastbound lane of Elizabeth Street between Santa Fe Street and South Staples Street will be closed through August 2025. Traffic will be redirected to the westbound lanes, allowing for two-way traffic. Right turns onto Elizabeth Street from South Staples Street, heading towards Santa Fe Street, will remain restricted.
The entire project's expected completion is August 2025.
A detailed map is attached to visually represent the road work and traffic flow adjustments.
Safety remains a top priority, and motorists traveling through this area are advised to follow the posted detour signs to navigate the construction zone. Detours will be clearly marked to ensure minimal disruption and maintain traffic flow.
The City of Corpus Christi is committed to projects that maintain or improve streets and infrastructure for every city resident, business, and visitor.
