Everhart Road Project Transitions to New Construction Phase

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Phase 1 of the Everhart Road project is nearing completion. Starting Thursday, January 2, 2025, the project will transition into another phase which will require significant traffic control changes.

The new Traffic Control Plan (TCP) will extend from Burney Drive to the south side of the McArdle Road intersection. The southbound lanes of Everhart Road will be closed from South Staples Street to just past McArdle Road. Traffic will be redirected to the northbound lanes, allowing two-way, single-lane traffic. Westbound access to McArdle Road will be closed at Everhart Road. Traffic access to and from McArdle Road will be detoured. This closure is expected to last approximately 6 weeks, weather permitting.

Left turns onto McArdle Road from Everhart Road will be prohibited. Additionally, left turns onto South Staples Street and Burney Drive from Everhart Road will continue to be prohibited.

A detailed map is attached to represent the road work and traffic flow adjustments visually.

Safety remains a top priority, and motorists traveling through this area must follow the posted detour signs to navigate the construction zone. Detours will be clearly marked to ensure minimal disruption and maintain traffic flow.

The City of Corpus Christi is committed to projects that maintain or improve streets and infrastructure for every city resident, business, and visitor.
