Oso Creek Disc Golf Course Brush Fire Update

Does Not Pose Threat to Neighborhood

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX—The Corpus Christi Fire Department (CCFD) has been actively fighting a brush fire at the Oso Creek Disc Golf Course on Safety Steel Drive. The fire was reported around 10:00 a.m. and is affecting around 50 acres.

There has been no damage to structures or injuries reported among firefighters or civilians.

Firefighting crews from CCFD, Annaville Fire Department, Flour Bluff Emergency Services Districts, and the Texas Forest Service are on-site and diligently managing the situation.

Although the fire is near a residential area, the Texas Forest Service has established a fire line using heavy equipment to prevent the fire from spreading into the urban interface.

We urge our community to take the following precautions:

  • Avoid Recreational Fires: Avoid using fire pits, chimineas, or recreational fire sources.
  • Stay Informed: Keep up with local advisories and weather updates.
  • Report Fire Incidents: Promptly report any unattended fires or hazardous conditions.
  • Protect Your Property: Clear dry brush and flammable materials around your home.

Your vigilance is crucial in helping to prevent disaster. Stay safe, and spread the word!

The City of Corpus Christi will continue monitoring conditions and provide updates as necessary.
