Steamboat House Demolition Scheduled

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — Demolition is scheduled to begin on the Steamboat (Ropes) House located at 1517 Mesquite Street on September 18, following a structural evaluation that identified the building as structurally unsafe and in a state of excessive disrepair.

The Texas Historical Commission has approved a permit for the demolition, and the city has completed all conditions set forth by the commission. 

The demolition is expected to be completed by September 30.
