Biography of Mark Scott

Mark is President of San Jacinto Title Services in the Coastal Bend Region where he manages operations and business development for the largest locally owned title business in the region.

He is serving on the Corpus Christi City Council as an at-large representative. He has previously served on the council for a combined 16 years. During his years on the council, he served as chair of the City’s Audit Committee, as president of the Corpus Christi Housing Finance Corporation and was a member of several committees of the Texas Municipal League, the National League of Cities, and the Coastal Bend Council of Governments. He was board secretary for Tex21, a statewide transportation coalition, and a board member for the Alliance for Interstate 69 Texas. He has served for over a decade on the Coastal Bend Regional Water Planning Group.

He is a member of the executive committee for the Coastal Bend Blood Center and a board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nueces County. He is a member of Corpus Christi Rotary Club and the Corpus Christi Mustangs. Mark previously served as a trustee for the Art Museum of South Texas and is a graduate of Leadership Corpus Christi Class XVII. He is past president of Leadership Corpus Christi Alumni, 4UCC and the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Alumni Association. He has previously served on the boards of the Greater Corpus Christi Business Alliance, the Association of Texas Leadership Programs and the Texas Lyceum. He was co-founder of Vision 2000, a community-wide planning initiative.

He received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University – Kingsville and his Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. During his undergraduate years, he was very involved in Sigma Chi Fraternity including a term as chapter president.

He and his wife Carol have two children Christopher and Alexandra. They are active in Parkway Presbyterian Church where Mark has served on the church session as an elder.

Mark was recognized as the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Outstanding Alumni in 2022. He is a past recipient of the Citizen of the Year from the Beautify Corpus Christi Association and LCCA Alumni of the Year. He has received top volunteer honors from the Volunteer Center of the Coastal Bend, Greater Corpus Christi Business Alliance (Chairman’s Award) and Corpus Christi Association of Realtors Affiliate of the Year.
