Animal Care Services
Adopt
Thank you for choosing to adopt! Corpus Christi Animal Care Services’ staff are eager to help match you with a great fit for your family. Look through our adoptable pets on this page or come by our facility at 2626 Holly Road to meet our adoptable pets.
The fastest way to adopt is in-person at our shelter. However, if you see a pet you want to adopt and cannot come to the shelter but find an animal you are interested in let us know online by hitting the “I’m interested” button and one of our adoption counselors will contact you. Please keep in mind, adoptions are first-come, first-served, so if someone is in the shelter to adopt, they will be ahead of you in line.
The current adoption fee is $25. This includes:
-
- Spay/Neuter Surgery
- Age-appropriate Vaccinations
- Rabies Vaccination
- Flea and Tick prevention
- Microchip
We offer a 14-day trial adoptions if you prefer to foster-to-adopt.
Animals come from various backgrounds. Sometimes they come to us injured, sick, mistreated, and scared. Because of this, we cannot warrant health, temperament, or age of any animal.
Adoption Policy
Pets that are still on their "stray hold" (a 3-5 day waiting period during which CCACS attempts to locate an owner) are available for pre-adoption. Pre-adopting a pet at the shelter allows you to schedule your adoption pick-up day ahead of time. You are able to pick up the pet once they have been released from their stray hold and spayed/neutered. However, even with pre-adoption, the original owner may still reclaim the pet within the stray hold period.
-
- You must be 18 years-old to adopt a pet.
- When picking up your new pet, please bring your valid ID.
- All adoptions are first come, first serve. Pets located in foster homes are available for adoption online but filling out an online inquiry does not place a hold on that pet. All pets in the shelter must be adopted in person at 2626 Holly Road.
- If you have any questions, please email livereleaseteam@cctexas.com.
The 3-3-3 Rule
We encourage you to look over our 3-3-3 Rule which covers what you can expect from a recently adopted pet at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months.
