Recreation Center Programs
The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department operates four recreation centers throughout the city, offering programs for youth ages 6 to 16 and community events for everyone to enjoy. We are dedicated to promoting character development, leadership, education, and healthy living through our many fun and exciting activities and programs.
A variety of classes are offered for youth and adults at affordable rates. Classes may include martial arts, fitness, dance, sports, etc. Our recreation centers host special events throughout the year, such as dances, holiday festivities, movies in the park, and fitness programs. Please check this page periodically for updates.
Schedule
School Year: Recreation Centers operate Monday through Friday, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. during the school year.
Summer: Summer camps are offered in two session. Morning Sessions are held from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Afternoon Sessions are held from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Parents' Night Out on May 16
Sign up your kids to join us on Saturday, May 16, from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Lindale Recreation Center, 3133 Swantner Drive. Let our friendly Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation staff entertain your kids aged 6 to 16 with a fun-filled evening of games, arts and crafts, and dinner, for only $10 per child!
After School Program
This is a FREE open campus afterschool program for youth ages 6 to 16, which operates in conjunction with the Corpus Christi ISD schedule Monday through Friday from August 11, 2025, through May 22, 2026, (closed on holidays) from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the four recreation centers: Joe Garza, Lindale, Oak Park, and Oso. Our program allows youth to engage in special programs, homework tutorials, arts and crafts, sports, games, nutrition, and more. It offers general supervision for the children. A free afternoon snack will be provided daily at all sites. Space is limited. All youth are required to register to attend. View the program flyer below for the schedule, sites, and more details.
School Break Camps
Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department offers SPARK open-campus recreation camps for youth ages 6 to 16 during school breaks throughout the school year, such as spring break or intercession. Please be aware of your school district's break periods and check the SPARK registration page in the weeks before a break to secure a spot.
Summer Camps
Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation offers affordable summer camps for youth ages 6 to 16 from June to July each summer. Morning and afternoon sessions are available to select from. A snack and lunch will be provided during each session. Recreation activities include playing billiards, foosball, air hockey, arcade games, arts and crafts, outdoor sports, field trips, guest speakers, and other activities offered at participating recreation centers. Each child must be signed in and out by an adult each day. Space is limited and all youth must be registered. For more information, please call (361) 826-3472.
2026 SPARK Summer Camp
This recreation program for youth ages 6 to 16 will be offered Monday to Friday from June 1 to July 24 at two recreation centers. Children can enjoy activities such as outdoor sports, group and arcade games, arts and crafts, science projects, specialist classes, field trips, and making new friends. A morning and afternoon snack, as well as lunch, will be provided daily! The registration fee is only $30 per child per session for the week. Online registration will open on Tuesday, May 12, and will remain open until filled. Space is limited, so early registration is strongly encouraged! See the flyer for more details. After School Snack Program
All recreation centers will provide a FREE afternoon snack daily. Please contact the site director if your child has any dietary restrictions or allergies. An alternate snack may be provided with a signed authorization letter from a physician. If the parent provides the snack, the Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department is not responsible for meeting the child's daily nutritional needs. The City is an equal opportunity provider.
