Role of the City Auditor's Office
City Auditor Duties
The City Auditor is appointed by and reports to the City Council through an Audit Committee. The City Auditor evaluates if the City:

- Accomplishes its goals and objectives
- Operates effectively, efficiently, and economically
- Accounts for and safeguards assets from loss, damage, or inappropriate use
- Complies with laws, regulations, established policies and procedures, and/or contract terms
- Implements, controls, and promotes their effectiveness at a reasonable cost
- City Charter Article II, Section 29 refers to the establishment of the City Auditor's Office
- City Ordinance Chapter 12 1/2 refers to the Office of the City Auditor
