Reclaimed Water Distribution Services
Corpus Christi Water offers Type I and Type II treated wastewater in bulk for construction and other non-drinking uses. This recycled water helps conserve our drinking water supply and is currently available at no subscription cost. The reclaimed water will be processed and collected at the City’s Oso Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Type I Reclaimed Water (Residential)
Type I reclaimed water provides residential customers with an environmentally conscious and cost-effective solution for outdoor water needs.

- Garden watering
- Athletic Fields
- Public Parks
Type II Reclaimed Water (Commercial/Industrial)
CCW’s Type II reclaimed water service offers businesses a cost-effective and environmentally responsible water solution. Commercial and industrial businesses can benefit from significant cost savings compared to potable water while maintaining a reliable supply even during drought conditions.
Important Safety Notice:
This water cannot be used for drinking, food preparation, direct human contact, or unrestricted irrigation.

- Commercial irrigation (non-food crops)

- Dust control operations
Customers and Permitting
Reclaimed water at Oso Wastewater Treatment Plant is available to two categories of customers:
Users:
Customers who will use the reclaimed water directly for personal or commercial use on their own property and are not authorized to resell or supply the product to other users.
Suppliers/Providers:
Customers who intend to supply/provide the reclaimed water to another entity as part of a business practice.
Regulatory Compliance:
It is the responsibility of program customers to ensure that the use of the reclaimed water is compliant with the requirements of TCEQ, Title 30 of the Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 210 (30 TAC 210), and any other regulatory guidance such as City or County ordinances.
Permitting (Users)
Approval for Type I and Type II Reclaimed Water use and permitting are required for all customer types. Follow these steps to get started:
Step 1: Complete the permit application (linked below):
Step 2: Scan and email permit application to cctxwater@cctexas.com.
Step 3: Approved permits will be emailed back in five business days.
Step 4: Once you receive your permit, go to Oso Wastewater Treatment Plant to pick up reclaimed water
- Containers used for collection must be at least 200 gallons with a watertight seal and clearly marked identifying the contents as non-potable.
- Customers with the approved permit and required container may pull into the facility and call the number posted if no attendant is present.
- Filling stations will be clearly marked as Type I or Type II, to assist customers in collecting the appropriate supply for their approved uses.
- Both filling stations will operate Monday through Friday, 1:00PM - 5:00PM or as the daily supply lasts.
Permitting (Suppliers/Providers)
Suppliers/Providers intending to sell reclaimed water for business purposes are required to apply for permitting with the City and must also be approved by TCEQ prior to retrieving reclaimed water through this program.
Suppliers and providers of reclaimed water must submit three items: an Operations and Maintenance Plan, the TCEQ Core Data Form 10400, and the TCEQ Authorization for Reuse of Domestic Reclaimed Water Form 20427.
After TCEQ reviews and approves the Operations and Maintenance Plan and Form 10400, CCW will notify the applicant to proceed with their Reclaimed Water Distribution Application.
