Donations

Acceptance of donated materials in new, like new, or gently used conditions is up to the discretion of the librarians at each branch.  The Corpus Christi Public Libraries can provide an acknowledgement form but are unable to place a value on materials donated.  Gifts, unsolicited materials, and patron suggestions for purchases are all evaluated under the same policies, principles, and selection criteria as regularly purchased materials.  Donated materials that are not added to our collection may be added to a book sale, donated to other organizations, or recycled.

Donations to the Local History and Archives Collection are handled at La Retama Library only.  See Library policy 300.01 or the Location History department for more details.

Friends of Corpus Christi Public Libraries

Established over 60 years ago, the Friends of Corpus Christi Public Libraries helps to raise funds for books and special programs, like Family Festivals and Summer Reading Programs.

Library Board

The Library Board acts as an advisor to the City Council on the policies and operations of the library. The Library Board makes recommendations to the City Council on comprehensive policies on library services.

Volunteers

Contact the specific library branch where you would like to volunteer to see if they are accepting volunteers at this time.

* Volunteers must comply with City policies and complete a volunteer application. Repeat volunteers will be subject to a background check.
