Using the Library
Get a Library Card
A person of any age may apply for a library card. You can download a library card application for Youth and Adults in English or Español. Visit any library location to complete the application process. You must present photo identification with current residency.
If you cannot make it to a library just yet, but want to begin accessing the CCPL online catalog, you can register for a 30-day library account.
Computers, Printers and Scanners
Computers
You can use computers and scanners at any Corpus Christi Public Library. Library patrons can use computers for two sessions per day and two hours per session. Computers are available from the time a location opens until 15 minutes before the location closes. Computers automatically shut down when time expires.
Printers and Copies
Black and white printing is available for a small cost of $.30 per page. Copies that include errors will still be charged. Color printing is not available.
Scanners
Like computers, scanners are available from the time a location opens until 15 minutes before the location closes.
Meeting Rooms
Corpus Christi Public Libraries provides meeting and conference rooms available for the public and non-profit organizations. There are nine rooms available at five libraries.
Study Rooms
Study rooms can be booked for periods up to two hours on a first come first served basis. Study Rooms are available at the La Retama, McDonald, Hopkins, and Neyland libraries.

Corpus Christi Public Library App
Take the Corpus Christi Public Library everywhere you go! With this app you can search the library catalog and reserve items. You can even add library accounts to your device, allowing you to manage holds, checkouts, and more. This app, developed by Capira Technologies, is available on both the App Store and Google Play.
Family Place Libraries
The Ben F. McDonald and Owen Hopkins libraries are designated as Family Place Libraries™, a program designed to transform libraries into vibrant community centers for early literacy, parent education, and family support. Family Place Libraries have a dedicated area in the library for children under five and their caregivers to play, learn, and develop together. This space features a variety of books, educational toys, and sensory art activities for exploration.
Sensory Room
Located in the La Retama Central Library, the Sensory Room provides a place for children ages 0-14 a safe, non-threatening environment to calm or stimulate their sensory seeking needs. Reservations are required and last 1-hour. Contact the La Retama Library to make your reservation, 361-826-7000.
