Options at Community Court Hearings
In an effort to make the court system more accessible to residents, the City’s Municipal Court has partnered with the City’s Public Libraries to open a space that can handle a range of court cases. Starting in October 2023, Municipal Court judges will be available to meet with community members who have pending cases, including:
-
- Resolving class c violations
- Requesting Defensive Driving or Deferred Disposition
- Setting up Payment Plans
- Resolving active warrants
This innovative initiative allows residents to appear before the court at a more convenient time and location. By bringing the court system to the community, residents can access the services they need without worrying about travel or work-hour restrictions. This user-centered design approach not only enhances access to justice, but also highlights the City's commitment to creating solutions that benefit everyone.
