Sports
Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation offers various sports programs, classes, camps, leagues, and tournaments for youth and adults. Leagues are run at City ballparks and other facilities throughout the city. We operate two public gyms and three sports fields. They are available for event rentals, leagues, practice, and more. Closures
Temporary Closure of Ben Garza Gym for Renovations
Renovation of the locker rooms at the Ben Garza Gym, located at 1815 Howard Street, is underway. The existing men’s and women’s locker rooms and restrooms will be renovated to improve structural integrity, plumbing efficiency and water use, and usability and comfort for guests. The gymnasium will close during the renovation, and programming will be shifted to the Corpus Christi Gym, located at 3202 Cabaniss Parkway. Read more details in the news release, below.
Youth Programs
2025 Winter Youth Speed and Agility Camp
Eligible: Boys & Girls ages 5 to 14
Program Schedule: 2-day camp, January 2 and 3, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Site: Corpus Christi Gym, 3202 Cabaniss Parkway
Fee: $50/player

This camp will concentrate on footwork, balance, agility, and proper running movement. Youth will also participate in fun games and activities. Bring water and a snack.
2025 Winter Youth Basketball League
6-Game Program: Saturdays, from January 25 to March 1
Age Divisions: Boys 6 to 7; Boys 8 to 9; and Girls 6 to 8
Site: Corpus Christi Gym (3202 Cabaniss Pkwy.)
Fee: $60/player
Late Registration Fee: $85/player
Online Registration: December 16, 2024, to January 5, 2025

Adult Programs
Open Play Pickleball
Ongoing Program: Participants can drop in and play without the need for formal teams or leagues. This encourages social interaction, skill development, and fun! Only online payments will be accepted. For more information, call 361-826-3478.
