Welcome to the Street Operations Division of Public Works! We are dedicated to maintaining and enhancing our community's roadway infrastructure. Our team ensures that all roadways are safe, accessible, and well-maintained for the daily commute and long-term transportation needs. From routine inspections and repairs to residential rehabilitation projects, we are committed to keeping our roadways in top condition for all users.

Street Closures and Traffic Impacts

  • Up River Road at Poth Lane Closure for Water Line Installation

    Beginning on Tuesday, September 8, and continuing until Tuesday, November 3, a northbound section of Up River Road will be closed at Poth Lane for water line installation to improve local infrastructure and enhance water service reliability. Access for residents and businesses will remain available during construction.

  • Water Line Work on Holly Road near Rodd Field to Close Roadway Section

    Beginning Thursday, September 3, a section of Holly Road between Toben Drive and Rodd Field Road will be closed while construction continues on a water pipeline for reclaimed water. The street closures will continue through Friday, October 16.

  • Water Line Work on Flour Bluff Drive to Reduce Lanes

    Beginning Monday, August 31, a section of Flour Bluff Drive from Don Patricio Road to Compton Road will be restricted to one lane of travel for approximately three weeks. This temporary closure will allow crews to continue the installation of a waterline to improve system reliability.

  • Temporary Intersection Closure at Surfside Boulevard and Gulfspray Avenue Scheduled

    As part of ongoing infrastructure and revitalization efforts in the North Beach area, a temporary road closure at the intersection of Surfside Boulevard at Gulfspray Avenue will affect traffic beginning Friday, August 28.

     

  • Intersection Closure Part of Yorktown Boulevard Reconstruction Project

    Beginning Wednesday, August 26, Fred’s Folly Drive will be closed at the Yorktown Boulevard intersection as construction continues on the Yorktown Boulevard Road Reconstruction Project. The voter-approved Bond 2020 project includes roadway and infrastructure improvements along Yorktown Boulevard and is expected to be completed in 2027.

This is accomplished by maintaining street pavement; operating and maintaining traffic signals, signs and markings, planning and developing the street system; and providing storm water management services.
