Welcome to the Street Operations Division of Public Works! We are dedicated to maintaining and enhancing our community's roadway infrastructure. Our team ensures that all roadways are safe, accessible, and well-maintained for the daily commute and long-term transportation needs. From routine inspections and repairs to residential rehabilitation projects, we are committed to keeping our roadways in top condition for all users.

Street Closures and Traffic Impacts

  • UPDATE: Traffic Switch Planned for Yorktown Boulevard at Rodd Field Road

    Due to weather, the traffic switch planned for Yorktown Boulevard from Rodd Field Road to Oso Creek Mud Bridge on Saturday, April 25, will now begin on Saturday, May 2. Yorktown Boulevard traffic will close on the eastbound lanes from Rodd Field Road to Oso Creek Mud Bridge. Traffic will shift to allow two-way travel on the remaining lanes. Access to neighborhoods and businesses will remain available during construction. 

  • Traffic Plan for Buc Days Parade and Carnival

    In preparation for Buc Days festivities, the City of Corpus Christi has several road closures and parking restrictions planned to accommodate the Carnival and the Night Parade.

  • Utility Work on Everhart Road at Staples Street

    Ongoing utility work on Everhart Road will require intermittent lane closures between Staples Street and Alameda Street on Friday, April 17.

  • Traffic Switch Planned for Yorktown Boulevard at Rodd Field Road

    Ongoing work will require a traffic switch along Yorktown Boulevard from Rodd Field Road to Oso Creek Mud Bridge. On Saturday, April 25, Yorktown Boulevard traffic will close on the eastbound lanes from Rodd Field Road to Oso Creek Mud Bridge. Traffic will shift to allow two-way travel on the remaining lanes.

  • Emergency Closure of Cul-de-Sac at Caplin Drive and Paint Rock Road

    The City of Corpus Christi announces the emergency closure of the cul-de-sac at Caplin Drive and Paint Rock Road starting April 10th. This closure is necessary to address a broken water line in the area.

This is accomplished by maintaining street pavement; operating and maintaining traffic signals, signs and markings, planning and developing the street system; and providing storm water management services.
