Michael Dice has been appointed as the Director or the Development Services Department effective Monday, December 9, 2024. Michael has over 35 years of management and construction experience with 18 years of those in municipal government. He joined the City of Corpus Christi in 2019 as Assistant Director for the Development Services Department. ln this position, he co led the department with then Al Raymond leading the department in all aspects including managing the operating budgets and personnel. Prior lo joining the City of Corpus Christi, Michael worked for the City of San Antonio where his experience included working in several departments. such as Development Services, Parks and Recreation, and the City Manager's Office. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from University of Texas at San Antonio and a Master of Business Administration from California Coast University. He also serves as a member of the International Code Council, where he holds several certifications.

The Development Services Department is responsible for all planning, development and permitting activities in Corpus Christi. The department brings together building services, civil engineering, planning and zoning, permit applications, major projects and records in a way that customers can access information, start new projects, and get projects approved.
