North Beach Eco Park

The National Park Service - Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance program (RTCA) awarded the City of Corpus Christi a technical assistance grant to facilitate a planning process focused on the site design for a planned Eco and Birding park in the northern section of North Beach.

The northeast expanse of North Beach contains acres of wetland habitat, which plays an important role as a shorebird feeding ground and as a recreational amenity for area residents and visitors. The City of Corpus Christi, in partnership with the National Park Service and local institutions, is creating a park plan for the city-owned parcels in this area of North Beach, which total thirty acres.

The North Beach Eco Park Planning Initiative will develop an environmentally conscious plan for a park that will be home to healthy wetlands and wildlife, as well as trails, boardwalks, observation decks, interpretive signs and educational resources. Additional ideas for amenities and design will be gathered through an online survey and public meetings.
